The market is still trading higher with strong gains. The significant buying witnessed across the board mainly led by the Metal, Bank, IT and Auto stocks. The BSE Sensex managed to trade above the 13600 mark and the NSE Nifty above the 4000 mark in the afternoon trade. The Mid Cap and Small Cap stocks are also trading strongly.
The overall market breadth is positive, as 1947 stocks are advancing whereas 601 stocks that are declining.
Maruti Suzuki reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading higher by (6.55%) at Rs.586.50 while Reliance Communication the top loser down by (2.08%) at Rs.438.20.
At 2.31PM BSE Sensex is at 13,678.32 up by 224.32 points and Nifty is at 4,071.65 up by 55.65 points.
The BSE Mid Cap is higher by 108.41 points to 5,386.65 and the Small Cap advanced by 190.45 points to 6,640.12.
The BSE Metal index is the top gainer today trading with a gain of 392.64 points at 12,433.88. The main gainers are Nalco up by (4.14%) at Rs.354.35, SAIL increased by (3.64%) at Rs.132.50 followed by Tata Steel and Hindalco Industries inclined by (2.90%) and (2.06%) to Rs.658.95 and Rs.141.15 respectively.
The most active shares on NSE are Reliance trading at Rs.2078.75 with a total traded quantity of 2743997 shares followed by Reliance Capital trading at Rs.1066.80 with a total traded quantity of 3708760 shares.
