Market is facing the volatility as the investors are taking calculative steps for booking their positions before the declaration of the inflation figures and the industrial production data. The market opened with a bang but soon came down as the profit booking prevails. The market breadth is strong as 1203 stocks are trading in green while 914 stocks are trading in red.
At 11.35 AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 66.65 points at 13,859.59 and NSE Nifty is trading flat at 4,161.80. The BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading higher by 22.8 points and 47.93 points at 5,497.68 and 6,857.17 respectively.
Losers from the BSE are Satyam Computers trading lower by 3.24% at Rs463.40 followed by BPCL by 3.13% at Rs269.05, Deccan Aviation by 3.05% at Rs76.40, TCS by 2.87% at Rs844.10, Wipro by 2.83% at Rs418.80, HDFC by 2.58% at Rs2062.90, JSW Steel by 2.47% at Rs809.20, Tata Communication by 2.38% at Rs387 and Tata Power by 2.30% at Rs1016.80.
The Metal index is trading higher by 102.74 points at 13,061.91. Pushing it are Nalco trading up by 4.02% at Rs374.75 along with SH. Precoated by 3.73% at Rs106.95, Sterlite industries by 3.56% at Rs674, Hindalco industries by 2.25% at Rs157.10 and SAIL by 1.29% at Rs141.50.
From the Realty basket, Phoenix Mill trading up by 3.20% at Rs122.60 in line with Penland by 2.73% at Rs73.50, Unitech by 2.22% at Rs177.40, HDIL by 1.93% at Rs444.50, Sobha Developers by 1.54% at Rs274.15, Indiabull Real by 1.27% at Rs271.85, DLF by 1.08% at Rs463.30, Omaxe by 0.60% at Rs141.75 and Parsvnath by 0.29% at Rs122.70.
Nalco is trading higher by 4.02% at Rs374.75 due to rise in aluminium futures on London Metal Exchange that touched a record high of $3350 a tonne.
Cairn India is trading up by 3.86% at Rs251.6. The company has signed the petroleum Resources Agreement with Sri Lanka to explore oil and natural gas in the Mannar basin. The pact was signed between the petroleum minister of Sri Lanka and the company. This agreement includes acquisition of 5,000 kilometres of 2D, 1,000 square kilometers of 3D seismic and drill three wells in the initial three years of the eight- year exploration period.
ABB is trading higher by 2% at Rs923.45 as the company has signed a frame agreement with Petrobas to supply process automation systems and related services to eight oil refineries in Brazil over the next five years. The deal is worth $61 mn.
