The market today opens in green on the back of positive cues from the global markets. The buying interest is seen in the Metal, Realty, Consumer Durables and Capital goods stocks. However, the Auto, FMCG and IT stocks are in red in the opening trade. The Mid Cap and Small Cap are also trading higher in the opening bell.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1120 stocks are advancing whereas 434 stocks are declining on BSE.
At 10.30AM, the BSE Sensex was up by 25.91 points at 16,551.28 and the Nifty was up by 10.65 points to 4,929.
The BSE Mid Cap increased by 53.39 points to 6,806.92 and the BSE Small Cap advanced by 48.77 points to 8,285.86.
HDFC reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading with a gain of 2.80% at Rs.2585 while Tata Motors reported the top loser down by 4.03% at Rs.609.15.
BSE Metal index surged by 194.88 points to trade at 16,844.53. The top gainers are Sterlite Industries inclined by (1.87%) to Rs.923.90, NALCO increased by (1.44%) at Rs.560 followed by Tata Steel and SAIL up by (1.03%) and (0.54%) to Rs.912.65 and Rs.166.50.
BSE Realty index advanced by 67.39 points to trade at 7,297.81. The major gainers are Purvankara, Mahindralife, Unitech and Omaxe grew by (1.60%), (1.36%), (1.28%) and (0.86%) to Rs.237.95, Rs.641.30, Rs.249.85 and Rs.210.90 respectively.
Tata Power is trading higher by (1.12%) at Rs.1407.50. The company is investing Rs.500 crore for the expansion of wind power. The company would be adding 115 MW of wind power capacity in the current fiscal.
