Mkts: Spice Tele, RIIL Spurt @ 10:50 Hrs

Due to strong resistance at higher levels, a few blue chip stocks have surrendered a good portion of their early gains now. And the Sensex, which had spurted to a high of 16,844.02 in opening trades, has now eased to 16,768.30 (up 70.26% or 0.42%). At 5039, the Nifty is up 0.32% or 16.20 points over of its previous closing mark.

Unitech, Tata Power, Nalco, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Hero Honda, Satyam Computer Services, GAIL India, Wipro, Jaiprakash Associates, SAIL, Siemens and Ranbaxy Laboratories are up by 1% - 2% over their previous closing levels.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Zee Entertainment, Cairn India, DLF, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Larsen & Toubro, Cipla, Idea Cellular, Grasim Industries and Reliance Petroleum are also up with notable gains.

Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, ITC, ONGC, Reliance Communications, ACC and BHEL are down in the negative territory with sharp to moderate losses.

Spice Telecom tops the list of gainers in BSE 'A' Group. At Rs 44.10, the stock is up 6.8% over its previous closing price. Reliance Industrial Infrastructure, Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers, Oriental Bank of Commerce, United Spirits, IFCI, Brigade Enterprises, Nicholas Piramal, Hindustan Zinc, Maytas Infra, Omaxe, Exide Industries and HMT have moved up by 3% - 5%.

Parsvnath Developers, Jindal Saw, India Bulls Real Estate, Videocon Industries, Edelweiss Capital and Gujarat NRE Coke have also moved up sharply.
