Market Opens Flat.

The market today opens flat. But suddenly the market gained its momentum as significant buying witnessed across the board mainly led by the Oil & Gas, Consumer Durables, Power and Realty stocks. However, the Bank and IT stocks are still lagging behind. The broader market is also trading in line with the benchmark index in the opening trade.

The overall market breadth is positive as 1267 stocks are advancing whereas 493 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 10.30AM, the BSE Sensex was up by 53.53 points at 15,844.04 and the Nifty was up by 26.85 points to 4,773.90.

The BSE Mid Cap increased by 57.98 points to 6,529.49 and the BSE Small Cap advanced by 95.59 points to 8,036.70.

Reliance Energy reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It is trading with a gain of 3.49% at Rs.1,218 while Infosys Technologies the top loser declined by 1.07% to Rs.1,464.

BSE Oil & Gas index advanced by 156.95 points to trade at 10,727.98. The major gainers are RPL, Cairn India, BPCL and Gail India grew by (3.53%), (2.18%), (1.77%) and (0.47%) to Rs.176, Rs.234, Rs.403 and Rs.432 respectively.

BSE Power index improved by 21.86 points to trade at 3,109.79. The top gainers are Reliance Energy inclined by (3.49%) to Rs.1,218, GVK Power increased by (2.06%) at Rs.39.70 followed by Power Grid and NTPC up by (1.15%) and (0.93%) to Rs.97.10 and Rs.189.45.

Tata Motors is trading higher by (0.32%) at Rs.634. The company is planning to expand its business in Africa by setting up assembly facilities, mainly for its commercial vehicles.
