Due to lack of support at higher levels, Tata Power (down 2.6%), Zee Entertainment (down 1.5%), Sterlite Industries (down 1.4%), Idea Cellular (down 0.6%), Ranbaxy Laboratories (down 0.5%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.3%) have slipped into the red now.
Hero Honda, Unitech, BPCL, Suzlon Energy, Tata Steel and Sun Pharmaceutical have shed most of their gains. But with a host of frontline stocks staying firm, the benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty remain well entrenched in the positive territory at present.
Grasim Industries, Cipla, Ambuja Cements, GAIL India, Infosys Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services, BHEL, Siemens, Maruti Suzuki, Reliance Industries, Nalco, Reliance Petroleum, ONGC, ACC, DLF, ITC and Reliance Energy are up by 1% - 2%.
ABB has gained nearly 6%. Wipro, HCL Technologies, HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC, Tata Motors, Satyam Computer Services, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro, Punjab National Bank, Cairn India and NTPC are up by 3% - 5.5%. Hindalco, Reliance Communications, Power Grid, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Communications and State Bank of India are also up with handsome gains.
At 15,249.13, the Sensex is up by 2.8% or 415.67 points at present. The Nifty is up 2.38% or 107.95 points over its previous closing mark, at 4640.95.
