The market drifts down further as the selling pressures intensified across the counters. The cues from the global markets are not in favor that led to the domestic market to trade on the back foot.
At 11.36AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 553 points at 15,575 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 175.35 points at 4,696.65. The BSE Mid Cap and Small Cap are trading down by 211.33 points and 252.89 points at 6,698.52 and 8,279.03 respectively.
The market will remain closed from 11:45 IST to 12:25 IST due to sun outage. Trading time has been extended till 16:15 IST.
Major losers from the BSE are Indiabull Real trading lower by (9.20%) at Rs515.85 in line with HDIL by (7.61%) at Rs654.60, Godrej Inds by (7.34%) at Rs265.80, Phoenix mill by (6.81%) at Rs392.55, Reliance Capital by (6.70%) at Rs1344.95,.
The Metal index is trading lower by 571.12 points at 15,117.79. Pulling it are SAIL trading down by (5.73%) at Rs205.70, Jindal Steel by (5.33%) at Rs2086, Sesa Goa by (4.30%) at Rs3440, Ispat Inds by (4.20%) at Rs34.20.
The Oil and Gas index is trading down by 394.53 points at 10,247.56 as RNRL is trading lower by (5.43%) at Rs110.70 in line with Reliance industries by (4.34%) at Rs2273.10, Cairn India by (3.69%) at Rs239, Essar Oil by (3.10%) at Rs231.35.
From the telecommunications sector, Bharti Airtel is trading lower by (5.04%) at Rs772 along with Reliance Communications by (3.53%) at Rs520, Idea Cellular by (3%) at Rs97 and Tata Communications by (2.53%) at Rs500.
Maruti Suzuki is trading up by (1.4%) at Rs869 as the company has firmed up a massive expansion plan of its service network and plans to expand it to 1700 towns and cities from the current about 1200. The company plans to increase the number of service stations and workshops to over 3,800, from the about 2600 currently. Also, the company has signed an agreement with Shriram Group''s unit Shriram City Union Finance Ltd to make available car finance to its customers in semi urban and rural markets.
