The market is trading on the back foot after a strong start to the trading session. The profit booking across the counters led the market to pare all its initial gains. The market breadth is strong as 1585 stocks are trading in green while 789 stocks are trading in red.
At 11.32AM, BSE Sensex is trading lower by 61 points at 18,054 and NSE Nifty is trading down by 30.05 points at 5,272.85
Leading the rally from the BSE are Reliance Power trading up by (8.11%) at Rs415.90 followed by SKF India by (6.96%) at Rs372, Micro Inks by (6.53%) at Rs341.70 and Engineers India by (4.99%) at Rs791.55.
The Metal index is trading up by 72.72 points at 16,239.88 points at 16,239.88. Pushing it are Sesa Goa trading higher by (5.77%) at Rs3,332 along with Jindal Steel by (3.07%) at Rs2401, Nalco by (2.59%) at Rs371, Jindal Saw by (2.32%) at Rs841, Bhushan Steel by (2.22%) at Rs1065, Hind Zinc by (1.27%) at Rs598.50, Tata Steel by (1.03%) at Rs826.90, Hind Zinc by (1.27%) at Rs598.50.
The Oil and Gas index is trading lower by 127.16 points at 11,141.93 as ONGC is trading down by (2.06%) at Rs1012 along with Reliance Inds by (1.26%) at Rs2557.90, RPL by (1.07%) at Rs165.90, HPCL by (0.94%) at Rs305.85, Essar Oil by (0.89%) at Rs232.80, BPCL by (0.84%) at Rs465.
GAIL India is trading higher by (2.1%) at Rs437 as the company has signed a memorandum of understanding with ITERA Oil and Gas company of Russia for cooperation in various projects. The areas of cooperation includes participation in CNG projects, gas based petrochemicals opportunities, exploration opportunities in Russia and CIS countries and cooperation in other projects of mutual interest.
