Market Opens Weak.

The market today opens weak in line with its Asian peers. The cues from the global market are also not very impressive. Most of the BSE indices slipped into red in the early trade mainly led Oil & Gas, Capital Goods, Bank and Realty stocks. However, the significant buying witnessed in the Metal stocks. The broader market is also trading in line with the benchmark index. The overall market breadth is negative as 776 stocks are advancing whereas 889 stocks are declining on BSE.

At 10.32AM, the BSE Sensex was down by 13.89 points at 17,812.10 and the Nifty was down by 3.60 points to 5,264.80.The BSE Mid Cap decreased by 0.74 points to 7,722.82 and the BSE Small Cap slipped by 12.28 points to 9,661.58.

Hindalco Industries reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack. It was up by (3.60%) at Rs.203 while Ambuja Cement reported the top loser declined by (1.55%) at Rs.121.

BSE Metal index surged by 190.08 points to trade at 16,832.09. The major gainers are Hindalco Industries, NALCO, Sterlite Industries and Tata Steel grew by (3.57%), (3.36%), (3.05%) and (0.49%) to Rs.203, Rs.462, Rs.845 and Rs.816 respectively.

BSE Capital Goods index dropped by 52.16 points to trade at 16,454.51. The top losers are ABB declined by (1.32%) to Rs.1,192, BEML decreased by (0.97%) at Rs.1,167 followed by BHEL and Praj Industries down by (0.92%) and (0.19%) to Rs.2,242 and Rs.3,624 respectively.

Sun Pharmaceutical advanced by (0.08%) to Rs.1,202. The company has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for torsemide tablets in multiple strengths.
