FIIs Invest In Shares Worth Rs 9.40 cr

MUMBAI: Foreign Institutional Investors were net investors in equities on Wednesday as the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index, Sensex, ended over 341 points up.

FIIs made gross sale of equities worth Rs 3,818.73 crore and gross purchase of Rs 3,828.13 crore, resulting in a net investment of Rs 9.40 crore.

Domestic institutional investors also were net investors in shares worth Rs 23.59 crore, provisional data available on the BSE show.

Among other categories, non-resident Indian entities and proprietors invested in shares worth Rs 0.56 crore and Rs 21.47 crore respectively. Brokers, however, sold shares worth Rs 124 crore for their clients or retail investors.

According to the information available on SEBI website, FIIs had sold equities worth Rs 115.10 crore on Tuesday.

The Sensex ended the day at 16,949.14, a rise of 341.13 points or 2.05 per cent.
