Turmeric prices rise, buck trend

MUMBAI: All agri-commodities were trading low on Tuesday, and total volumes clocked were Rs 1,414 crore on NCDEX. Of this the maximum trading was seen in chana, guarseed, soyabean, soya oil, pepper, keera, rape-mustard seed and turmeric. Only turmeric saw price rising marginally.

Chana turnover was Rs 108 crore and the price moved from Rs 2,297 on Monday to Rs 2,285.

Guarseed clocked a turnover on NCDEX of Rs 155 crore. The price moved from Rs 1,650 per quintal to Rs 1,646.

Soyabean and soya oil saw turnovers of Rs 166 crore and Rs 241 crore each.

Soya oil saw the price move from Rs 537.05 per 10 kg to Rs 536.50.

Rapeseed saw a turnover of Rs 124 crore and moved to Rs 485.35 per 20 kg.

Turmeric turnover was Rs 54 crore, and moved to Rs 2,296 per quintal from Rs 2,238.

On MCX, turnover was Rs 4,460.78 crore.

Of this gold turnover was Rs 1,744.88 crore, and silver was Rs 616.63 crore.

Gold for December moved up by Rs 4 to Rs 10,544 per 10 gm to Rs 10,540. Silver dropped to Rs 19,359 per kg to Rs 19,410.

Copper turnover was Rs 531.25 crore, zinc turnover was Rs 454.55 crore and lead turnover was Rs 269.59 crore.
