Gold tumbles on fresh selling, global trend

MUMBAI: Gold prices fell due to emergence of selling by stockists in view of a weak trend in global markets. In Mumbai, standard gold (99.5 purity) dropped by Rs 110 per 10 gm to Rs 10,025 from Rs 10,135 on Monday.

In New Delhi, standard gold fell by Rs 110 at Rs 10,110 per 10 gm. A similar weakness was noticed in silver as it lost fresh ground on reduced offtake. In Mumbai, ready silver (.999 fineness) slipped by Rs 110 per kg to Rs 19,100 from Rs 19,210 on Monday.
