Sensex up over 63 pts at 15,485.31

Mumbai, Sept 04: The benchmark Sensex opened on a firm note by gaining over 63 points in early trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange today with heavy-weight stocks like Infosys and Reliance gaining further ground.

The Sensex, which has been maintaining a firm tone for the last seven days, added another 63.26 points and touched 15,485.31 in the first five minutes of trading on sustained buying by funds.

Similarly, the wide-base National Stock Exchange's Nifty rose by 26.45 points to 4,501.20 points.

Buying activity continued as funds were bought in heavy-weight stocks which included bank, technology and refinery segment.
