Mutual funds in buying mode in equities

Mutual funds (MFs) bought shares worth Rs 377.30 crore on Wednesday, 8 August 2007. They had sold shares worth a net Rs 5.20 crore on Tuesday, 7 August 2007. Mutual funds' net inflow of Rs 377.30 crore on 8 August 2007 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 797.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 420.50 crore. The 30-share BSE Sensex advanced 375.21 points or 2.51% at 15,307.98 on that day.Mutual funds bought shares worth Rs 521.69 crore in the first few days in the month of August 2007, till 8 August 2007. Mutual funds sold equities worth Rs 900.60 crore in the month of July 2007. Mutual funds had pumped in Rs 9062.34 crore in Indian equity market in the financial year ended March 2007.
